Between the Folds: Documentary Screening

Loukia & Michael Zampelas Art Museum is screening GREEN FUSE FILMS' award–winning documentary Between the Folds which chronicles the stories of ten fine artists and intrepid theoretical scientists who have abandoned careers and scoffed at hard–earned graduate degrees—all to forge unconventional lives as modern–day paperfolders. 


Ceramics and Folk Motifs by Koula Kalvari

Two-session Ceramic Art Course for adults facilitated by Koula Kalvari. The attendees will be asked to bring a piece of traditional lace along with them to use the pattern. 
How can one transform traditional motifs into an object such as a water jug, a bowl or a ceramic relief?

Koula Kalvari was born in Nicosia. Graduating as an architect from Aristotelion University, she continued her studies in Ceramics at XEN, both in Thessaloniki. Her work represented Cyprus in the Cairo Biennale of Ceramics 1998 and the European Ceramic Context Denmark 2014.


Androniki's Pink Knitwear

We gather to knit the pink knitwear, fulfilling the desire of Androniki, who initiated the idea of ​​gather together women in order to create a pink knitwear thus motivating them through occupational therapies.

Participation: free of charge
(€ 5 donation to Europa Donna for 3 pockets of pink wool)

Dimensions of knit: length - 150 cm at least X width - 20 cm.
Needle - 4,5 or 5 / Chips - 5,5 or 6
The design is a straight point and the scarf to complete needs 3 loops.


Traces by Penelope Vasquez-Hadjilyra

This workshop is designated for teenagers (16+) and young adults that want to experiment with the art of collage. The thematic of the workshop will revolve on the subject of traces of time and traces as patterns. The workshop is free of charge and the found objects and materials are going to be provided by the instructor, however, attendees are encouraged to bring along their own materials. The instructor will introduce the attendees in the spaces of the Museum and she will also provide to them a series of found objects that have visible time traces on them.


Collage Workshop by Nikos Papaloukas

To go along with the temporary exhibition of Nikos Papaloukas which will run from 3 to 25 February 2017 at Zampelas Art Museum, the artist will host a workshop within the exhibition space on the art of collage.

By doing so, those interested will be able to interact with the artist and his works directly, drawing inspiration for their own collage piece which they will go on to make, with the support and guidance of Nikos Paploukas throughout.
