George

Cosmadopoulos

A Greek painter who studied fine art at the Leipzig School of Fine Arts in Germany and at the Grande Chaumière in Paris, Cosmo first exhibited his works in Greece, and abroad, in 1926. He painted portraits, compilations and landscapes, his style shifting between realism and impressionism. He used small, short brushstrokes common in impressionism and paired them with expressionistic colour contrasts, this technique especially evident in his landscapes.
