From Painting the Tangible to Painting the Intelligible by Nikos Papaloukas

On the occasion of the temporary exhibition Painting Space in the work of Nikos Papaloukas on Saturday, February 18th at 11: 00pm, Nikos Papaloukas will present his works research.

The artist referring to history from the Renaissance to the Modern period discusses how the practice and worldview of each time period shape the perception and concept of space and by extension the creation of pictorial space.

Nikos Papaloukas was born in 1969 in Bellapais, Kyrenia. In 1974 he moved to Nicosia where he currently resides and works. Following his studies in Graphic Design and Fine Arts, he succeeds with his work presented in solo and group exhibitions in Cyprus and abroad. In December 2011 he exhbited his work at the Literature Museum of Kiev, Ukraine and at Michalis Kakoyiannis Fundation, Athens, Greece, in March 2016. His work has been included in a number of group exhibitions and has been referred in local and international art magazines and art publications. He taught at the Design and Multimedia Department of the University of Nicosia and the Multimedia and Graphic Design Department of the Technology University of Cyprus in Limassol. Since 2015 he is a member of the Cyprus philosophical association committee.
