Stephanides

The son of painters T. And K. Stafanidou-Fasouliotou, the artist studied at the Schol of Fine Arts at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (1986-1991); D. Conto and I. Molfesi were his tutors. Following abstract trends, Stephanides’s paintings are distinguished by their emphatic colours, his style influenced by the creators of Orphism. The co-operation of warm and cool colours, a fixation on pear-shaped forms and kinetic elements feature in his expressive visual articulation. In some cases, Stephanides combines colour with calligraphic components, giving  his works new direction.
