Spyros

Demetriades

Spyros Demetriades studied at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design (U.M.P.R.U.M.) in the School of Applied Arts (H.V.S.U.P.) in Prague from 1971 to 1977, specializing in animation under the professor M. Jagr. His themes include, among others, landscapes, seascapes and scenes of city life. His work is directly inspired by the world of animation; his compositions distinguished by a sense of movement and the detailed rendering of his subject matter through accuracy and an obvious use of contour and colour. Demetriades also works in the cinema (animation) and in television.
